Option 1: Custom Reprogramming & Directed Differentiation
Ideal if you have somatic cells from your donor e.g. fibroblasts or blood cells
The cells will be reprogrammed using a non-integrating, zero-footprint system. The iPS cells derived will be expanded using defined and xeno-free medium and substrate, and characterized using the standard methods including pluripotency marker expression and karyotype analysis. The turnaround time for reprogramming is usually 4-6 weeks.
We then efficiently differentiate the iPS cells to cerebral cortical neural lineage using defined neural induction medium and substrates. The turnaround time for the differentiation is usually two to three months.
What cells do I get?
Axol does the reprogramming and differentiation and you receive the differentiated cells. Due to our agreement with Kyoto University we are not permitted to share with you the iPS cells, however, if you need more batches of differentiated cells in future we can store the iPSCs for you in order to produce more cells.
