Axol iPSC-Derived Mature Astrocyte Kit contains cryopreserved mature astrocytes together with optimized Astrocyte Maintenance Medium to maintain the astrocytes. The astrocytes are derived from an iPSC line from a healthy donor. More than 80% of the cells are GFAP+ (Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein) and ≤15% of the cells are TUJ1+ (neuronal class III ß-tubulin) neurons.

Mature Astrocytes have a purity based on our listed QC criteria. Our ICC standards ensure cell markers such as GFAP meet or exceed 85% based off current templates and we have a minimum of 80% viability guaranteed upon recovery in addition to sterility (mycoplasma) testing. With regards to proliferative capacity, there are many variables that can impact growth like seeding densities. When cells are in a logarithmic growth rate the population will double every 24hrs and daily monitoring is required to evaluate the estimated state of confluence.

Mature astrocyte at this stage almost stop proliferating so even you passage them, you may not get more cells but lose cells during passaging. We do not recommend customer to re-freeze the astrocytes.
